Accessible Seating For Your Convenience
South Orange Performing Arts Center Accessibility
SOPAC is committed to making the arts experience as complete and enjoyable as possible for all patrons. If you or a member of your party is in need of assistance, please notify the SOPAC Box Office at (973) 313-2787 at the time your tickets are purchased. Patrons may also contact the Patron and Ticket Services Department at (973) 382-1028 at least 7-10 days prior to attending an event to request assistance. If you are planning to use any of the services available we ask that you make every attempt to arrive at the theatre at least 45 minutes prior to the performance start time. The theatre is accessible to patrons who use wheelchairs or walkers. Accessible seating is located on the Orchestra level. These seats are also designated accessible in the seating map viewed when purchasing tickets online. Tickets for accessible seats may be purchased online, via phone, or in person at the SOPAC Box Office. If a member of your party is in a wheelchair please let us know if the chair is oversized, has any special equipment (i.e.: oxygen tank) or whether the party member can transfer from the chair to a theatre seat. The Herb & Milly Iris Gallery, on the second and third floors, as well as the SOPAC Loft, on the third floor, are accessible via elevator. All restrooms in the building have accessible facilities. There are eight (8) accessible parking spaces located in the SOPAC/NJ Transit parking lot. If necessary, patron drop-off and pickup at the main entrance is available, however, it must be arranged through the Box Office. Assisted listening devices are provided free of charge on the day of the performance, subject to availability. To request a listening device, see the House Manager upon arrival. Assisted listening devices are available for every performance that is electronically enhanced through the audio system. Large Print programs are available at every SOPAC-presented performance and can be found in the lobby or from the House Manager upon request. Braille signage is in place throughout the building. Braille brochures are available upon request at the Box Office, subject to availability. Service animals are welcome at SOPAC. If you or someone in your party plans to attend an event with a service animal, please inform the Box Office when purchasing your tickets so that we may ensure your ticket reservations include an aisle seat.
