Hannah Mikowski

Hi Yoocan!

I’m Hannah Mikowski, Yoocan’s collaborations coordinator and I am here to tell you about all the awesome things the LEGO company has done for the differently-abled community. You may know LEGO as the company that makes interlocking plastic blocks that are fun for people of all ages. This company does so much more. LEGO has created the Brick-by-Brick program: this program recognizes the unique talents that autistic children have and aims to support them through partnerships with organizations well versed in this arena. This program brings children with an interest in LEGO together with the goal to bolster socialization skills among the young autistic population. Check out some of LEGO’s amazing products right here on Yoocan. We have made sure to include a selection of products that pop up next to the stories and it will take you directly to their description pages.

Moreover, our very own Erez has built his first LEGO Mario Bros set and is going to try many more, since LEGO also opened its wonderful store in Israel, with all these products and more.

Some of LEGO’s awesome new inclusive products. Diversity and Inclusion are fundamental to LEGO’s mission, so they are always finding new ways to interact with the differently-abled community. Part of this interaction is creating products that represent the community. From braille bricks to new lego mini figures representing the wheelchair community, LEGO has been working to bring you products that represent you! Check some of these products out below:

Check out this and much more. We hope to bring you more inclusive and useful ways to be entertained and practice doing what you love.
