Special Olympics Israel
Special Olympics is the world's largest world-class sports organization that works for people with developmental mental disabilities and their families. More than 4.9 million athletes from 177 countries and more than a million volunteers from all over the world participate in the organization's activities and events and increase their lives through joy, love for sport, and the belief that anyone can succeed.
Through our programs and activities, our athletes are able to discover strengths and abilities that they have already contributed to, thus experiencing great happiness and a sense of empowerment and self-confidence. In the competitions of Special Olympics our athletes become a source of inspiration for the community in which they live, thereby proving to us all that there is no challenge to the will, and opening our hearts to recognize the other and different. Thanks to the programs, events and competitions, Special Olympics has become a leading voice in raising awareness of the abilities of people with disabilities and a central place in their realization and success.
