Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)

My Spinal Cord Injury Doesn't Stop Me From Living

Hi, I'm Katianne Thaiz, I'm 17 years old, and I've been in a wheelchair since I was 3 years old. When I was 13 years old, I discovered that I had a cyst in my spine called an arachnoid cyst, which has caused a Spinal Cord Injury. This type of cyst usually develops between the surface of the brain, so my case is very rare.

I had my first surgery at age 13, but after 9 months the cyst grew back again. I decided to remain in my wheelchair during the next three years. I have been operated on 9 times since the inital surgery because the cyst is always growing back. I've gone through countless doctors, but now I just hope that the right medicine will be discovered to cure my Spinal Cord Injury.

Despite my complicated health situation, I try to live my life as normal as possible. I am a YouTube blogger, model, and I am studying to be a doctor.
