The road to RIO

Hi, my name is Tyrone Pillay and I am a Paralympic athlete from South Africa. I won a bronze medal at the RIO Paralympics and this ranks as my greatest sporting achievement to date. From the age of 3 years old, all I ever imagined was that I was one day going to represent my country at the highest level and 33 years later it happened. Always believe in your dreams and work hard to achieve them.

For me, this achievement was great but not something that I only want to be remembered for. It’s more about the legacy that I create and the contribution I make to society.

For me helping the next generation is what I’m working towards and showing that anything is possible if you believe.
