Kicking Cancer's Butt Twice
Hi! I'm Jade. I was 25 years old with a promising career as a salesman when I was diagnosed with bone cancer. After a year of chemo and radiation therapy, I thought I was healed. However, cancer is a b*tch and it recurred after a year. We travelled from Abu Dhabi to India to find a cure, but failed. We returned to the Philippines and decided to amputate the affected leg. After two years of battling cancer, I am currently cancer-free for almost four years- thank God.

קיבלתי את החיים בדיוק כפי שהיו. את העובדה שלא אוכל לחיות את החיים שהיו לי לפני כן. הייתי רגיל לחיים מהירים ולפתע הייתי צריך לקחת את הזמן. זה לא כל כך קל להיות קטוע. לכן הרגשתי את הדחף לעשות משהו, אבל אף פעם לא עלה על דעתי שיום אחד אהיה ספר - עד שנתקלתי באקראי במכונת התספורת הישנה של אבי (אותה המכונה איתה נהגתי לגלח את השיער שלי בזמן הכימותרפיה). לא הכי התחברתי לזה בהתחלה, אבל ניסיתי כי לא היה מה להפסיד. צפיתי בהדרכות ביוטיוב על איך לעשות תספורת "סקין פייד". ואז מצאתי את עצמי מכור אליהן! מעולם לא דמיינתי שאהיה כל כך מכור לראות את כל השינויים האלה ולחשוב שהם כאלה נהדרים. כך החלטתי שאני רוצה להיות ספר. הייתי צריך לאבד רגל כדי להבין שיש לי את הכישרון הזה שאלוהים נתן לי.
עכשיו, כל מה שיש לי הוא מספרה בחצר האחורית שלנו. אני אעבוד קשה כדי שיום אחד אוכל לפתוח מספרה אמיתית משלי. אפילו שאיבדתי את הרגל הימנית שלי, אני עדיין מודה על כך שלא ויתרתי. ברכות באות. האמינו בכך. סמכו על התהליך.
I Lost A Leg But I Gained A New Passion
I accepted life just the way it was. I accepted the fact that I could never live the life that I had before. Being used to a fast-paced life, now, I needed to take time. It's not that easy to be an amputee. That's why I felt the urge to do something, but it never crossed my mind that one day I would become a barber- not until one day when I stumbled upon my father's old clipper (that same old clipper I used to shave my hair during my chemo days). It's wasn't my thing at first, but I gave it a try because there was nothing to lose. I watched tutorials on YouTube on how to do skin fade. I then found myself getting hooked to it! I never imagined that I would become so addicted to watching all those transformations and thinking they were so magnificent. That is how I decided that I wanted to be a barber. It took me losing a leg to realize that I had this God given talent.
Right now, all I have is a barbershop in our backyard. I will strive hard so that one day I can have a real shop of my own. Even thought I lost my right leg, I am still thankfull I never gave up. Blessings are coming. Believe that. Trust the process...
