A Path Unlike Any Other
Being diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in 2014, this discovery forced me to change trajectory. It brought me to a place where I could participate with the AdaptLab and their documentary, Maria and Pete. Working with founding members Andrew Johnson and Oren Sauerhaft, we helped create a story of two fascinating people.
Drawing from an undergraduate degree in Film and Television Production, the teamwork of AdaptLab quickly became an enjoyable process. I coordinated with Oren on the project's cinematography and helped Andrew with the editing process. I also work with Leigh Silver, to help the overarching goals of AdaptLab.
I'm hoping this recent work can be enjoyed by all in the upcoming documentary, Maria and Pete. It's a wonderful story about love, passion and overcoming hardship to achieve amazing things.
What sets this story apart from others is that the disabilities of the two subjects are secondary to the spirit and fun this couple shares in their activities. Maria and Pete inspire us to reflect on what is important in life.
I have gotten to know Maria and Pete's backstory a bit better. Maria and Pete live an active life. In getting to know their struggles, they became emblematic of how disabled adults can transcend limitations. They are also very honorable toward their family, a great quality.
