Everyone Deserves to Have Access to Nature

Though I’ve had my share of crucible moments adjusting my life from being a Tank Commander to finding myself in a wheelchair, I was lucky enough to end up with the kind of personality that made it possible for me to fulfill so many of my dreams in the face of my circumstances. One of my loves, traveling and experiencing the great outdoors was something I thought I’d never been able to do again, but with great hardship and a little bit of will, I found my ways to travel across the country and back, visit Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, up and down the coasts, the bayou, the mountains, the deserts, you name it... This however is simply not possible for the vast majority of people who are suffering from severe disabilities, and more specifically, veterans with severe disabilities.
For anyone traveling in a wheelchair and/or a chronic physical disability, the biggest barriers to deal with are access to a proper bathroom, shower, and bed - facilities that make exploring the great outdoors with friends and family nearly inaccessible - facilities that an RV can provide. I searched relentlessly to rent a wheelchair- accessible RV only to be amazed that even in the US today it is nearly impossible to find such a thing! After a few years of being angry that nothing like that existed to rent, and that people with special needs could not fulfill the great dream of traveling cross country, I decided it was time for me to stop complaining, and to do something about it!

When I declared on social media that I was going to create my own wheelchair accessible RV, I received an outpouring of messages from people in wheelchairs who told me that one of their life’s dreams is to travel around the US and marvel at the USA's beauty like everyone else does. This is when I suddenly realized that I’ve found a need much bigger than my own and where my modest mission begins.

I am making the healing gift of NATURE, accessible again to such people by building a Wheelchair-accessible RV that I will be RENT-ing to families once it is complete. To be clear, this will be a for-profit business once I am finished renovating the RV.

YOUR contribution however will go towards sending a disabled child or a severely injured military veteran on a week-long RVing trip in the Great Outdoors! <3 If you have any questions whatsoever, feel free to reach out to me! I'll be happy to connect. Also, if you'd like to make a US tax-deductible donation, please go to this link, and make your donation to where it says "Ron's Wheelchair Accessible RV for Vets": follow the link.  This is an all-volunteer US 501c3 organization named "Aleethia" that took us under their wing. Once you make your contribution, they will send you all relevant tex-related authorizations. Thank you!

***ALSO! If you already know that you'd like to plan/book an RVing trip already, please reach out and let me know!
