Back in the Boat
My name is Blake Haxton and I contracted necrotizing fasciitis in the spring of 2009 during his senior year of high school.
I was captain of my school's rowing team and was in perfect health until the infection cost me both of my legs and nearly ended my life.
After a lengthy hospital stay and years of recovery, I graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor's in Finance in 2013 and a degree in Law in 2016. Now I work for Diamond Hill Capital Management handling investments in public industrial companies. While not analyzing securities I am training for the 2021 Paralympic Games where I will represent the United States in two sports, the single sculls, and the sprint canoe.
