My Story
My name is Chris Barkley (@chriswbarkley) and I’m from Spokane, Washington.
I suffered a C4 level spinal cord injury while skiing, 2 and a half years ago, and it resulted in me being paralyzed from the chest down. Despite my injury, I’ve worked each day since to build the life I’ve always dreamed of, and through the growth, I’ve even found new passions and goals!
I am a PROUD High Fives Foundation Athlete (@hi5sfoundatiom) and through them, I’ve discovered so much about how AWESOME life can be even after a life-altering injury. I am also beginning graduate school through Arkansas State University this fall to obtain my Masters of Public Administration focusing in Nonprofit Management! I’m an active part of the SCI Instagram community. I use my voice and platform to bring awareness, promote change, educate, and bring an honest and unfiltered view of my life, struggles, and successes through my page!
