Still A Promising Future
It was 3rd and about 8 the coach said Brown we need a 1st down. Coach signals the play to the QB in the huddle the QB calls Silver 2000 Silver 2000 on 2 (a double TE single RB backfield screenplay) I look to the right long and hard to throw my defenders off in case they're reading my eyes. The QB yells DOWWWNNN SETT HUT HUT center snaps the ball I stall for about 2 seconds in pass protection then quickly run into the left flats to receive the screen pass. Completion I catch the ball shake my first defender and stiff arm another wooo riding the sideline it looks like daylight from there then BOOM a big blindside hit (I never saw it coming) my body sent flying in the air out of bounds then bang my body hits the ground and instantly I have no sensation in my body. I yell out to my teammate MY LEGS MY LEGS I CAN'T FEEL MY LEGS WHERE'S MY LEGS. This was 23 years ago today Oct. 15, 1998, I faced this horrific dilemma that I wished was a dream. At only the age of 15 with my entire life ahead of me, I'm talking D1 college ball and a high chance at the pros, but instead, life took a turn. Football over and paralyzed from the neck down (no feelings no movement). But how many of y'all know God in Heaven had and has a plan. You see what happens in the present you might not understand and most of the time it's useless at the moment but you gotta know it has a place in the future. Twenty-three years of faith, prayers, and exercise my Heavenly Father has been restoring me (now considered incomplete paralysis with feelings throughout my body and some movement in my upper and lower extremities). How many of y'all know God in Heaven ain't done yet. I have 2 college degrees a Bachelors's and Masters's, motivational speaking, working my way through the music business as an executive, and working tirelessly on my entrepreneurial endeavors (Strong Crown LLC). I am married to the love of my life (7 yrs in November and 13yrs together) I know and believe that God in Heaven will restore me fully, deliver me from this wheelchair and show the world his grace and mercy in this miraculous healing. Living proof there's a God if you need a reason. #Hallelujah (My mission: Inspire the world) My book Marathon Faith will be a best-seller someday!
