“If My Mind Can Conceive It And My Heart Can Believe It, Then I Can Achieve It 🙏🏾”
On July 30th 2020, my life changed in the blink of an eye. I’m Dale(IG @dales_journey), 23 , from the UK. I suffered horrific injuries following an altercation in 2020, at the age of 22, in which I was body slammed. The incident left me with a broken neck and paralysed from the chest down. I damaged my spinal cord at c5/c6. Initially, I wasn’t able to feel or move anything from my chest down. I was ventilator dependent and in a coma. I even had a tracheostomy at one point. But that didn’t stop me, I never gave up. My beautiful wife never left my side throughout it all. I kept on pushing. I was initially ASIA A, now ASIA D. I have regained movements in some limbs . Things are so different now. Before my injury, I worked as a security guard. Something I really enjoyed. Hopefully in the future , I will be able to work again , although I am aware it will be in a different role.
