Falak living with cerebral palsy
The Story of a cerebral palsy warrior: Many many years ago on October 10th, there was a mother, and a father. They were excited to have their 1st baby. The mother had a full and healthy pregnancy and expected everything to go as expected. When contractions began the doctor gave the parents a choice of going back home to relax until the delivery time gets closer or go to the hospital. They chose to check into the hospital. Little did anyone know at the time how important that choice was. When they arrived at the hospital a nurse decided to check on the mother and her unborn baby. The unborn baby's heartbeat was dropping quickly as the mothers blood pressure was getting high. Doctors were encouraging the mother to push the baby and it all went smoothly until the baby was born. The baby hardly cried. There was no sign of breathing up until 8 minutes. Every single second was extremely important. Excitement turned into fear. Smiles turned into tears. The father could only watch through a window as his first daughter came into the world silent, with a pink and blue tone, with a jittery arm and high pitched cry. The little girl was rushed to the NICU and the doctor told the family, "We're so sorry, we did everything we could." But she has convulsions and hence some part of her brain got damaged which limited her gross motor and fine motor skills. The baby girl was without any oxygen for 8 whole minutes. The lack of oxygen caused the tiny baby to suffer a permanent brain injury, which led to the diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy. The story of the baby girl was passed on starting a prayer chain. Then a miracle happened. God gave the baby strength, strength which will become her super power she will have to use her whole life. She fought for her life: I survived. The hospital nicknamed me warrior. This Warrior has beaten the odds for years and continues to do the impossible. I was told by doctors I would never walk or may not even talk. Some assumed my Cerebral Palsy, Low Tone, and Hemiplegia to "no quality of life". I was bullied by others into believing my future would be worth nothing. I began WALKING with a walker at age 5, I began walking with AFO at age 7, then I began walking independently at age 9. My speech has improved amazingly over the years and I grew up to become an inspiration to many with my positive attitude and never give up personality, using my unique voice to change lives. My life story has taught many life lessons to thousands of strangers worldwide. I was noticed through tik tok making many inspirational videos, doing things many thought I could never do. With My passion for dancing I joined Dance active and took part in state level competition and even won the competition many times. I do a lot of canvas painting which people love. I love doing adventurous things and taking part in camps. With each new day comes new challenges. My nature of not giving up took me to another level: I now knit beanie scarves and cowls, which is very challenging as I use only one side of my body. Today I am able to make as many beanies as I can and be able to sell them across the globe. I feel very blessed to have supportive parents and my baby sister who definitely will be following my footsteps as she herself has a rare condition called biliary atresia. I’m so happy and grateful for everything . My past was not the easiest battle and I still face unexpected battles but I am so thankful for my life and I see everyday as a gift. I decided to begin sharing my life with the world to educate others about disabilities in hope to bring more acceptance. I make Tik Tok videos which inspire many people. I do horse riding, make paintings, go camping, and I love cooking and knitting. My painting videos are viral on Tiktok too. My TikTok account is falak.zaman and on Instagram you can follow me @falakzamanofficial or my mother @tanziazaman _official. Please check it out!
