Inter-abled relationships and stigmatization

Relationships are a complex thing. While we all have beliefs and ideas on what makes a healthy and successful relationship, most of the time an inter-abled relationship is off of people's radar. What is an inter-abled relationship? An inter-abled relationship is a relationship where one person is able bodied and the other is disabled. Alex and Chloe (SticksandCopper) are an inter-abled couple trying to break down some of the stigmas attached to disability and in particular interabled relationships. "Our relationship is just so normal but unfortunately other people often don't see us that way. We are not special, there are thousands of interabled relationships and disabled people have the same emotions, needs and desires like everyone else!" Disability does not make Alex any less of a valuable partner to me. "I think there's this underlying perception in society that people with disabilities are not worthy or valuable as partners. This is not true. We are trying to spread awareness on disability and our everyday lives.  From Alex and Chloe - SticksandCopper
