Life from another point of view

Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)

Bianca

《Be the Exception》

My name is Bianca and I'm 23 years old. I had a really normal life like anyone, but my true story started the 29th of July of 2013. I was 19 years old. It was a cold Monday on my last week of winter break (I'm from Argentina by the way). I was going to a road trip with friends. Even though it may sound untrue, I had too many signs that told me not to go. Summarizing, we had a car accident that caused me a spinal cord injury and I'm quadriplegic level c6. Luckily my injury is incomplete and I can feel all my body. But it took a lot of physiotherapy to recover all the things I can do now. At first I only moved my eyes and now I swim alone, I do my own makeup, I keep studying international relations and I'm almost independent. I also played 2 years of rugby in a wheelchair (truly unexpected for me as I hate sports haha). Although the hardest thing you can lose is your own independence, never give up. Set in your mind and your goals and reach them-- there's nothing you can't do. Remember that your only obstacle is standing up right in front of you every time you look in a mirror. The only thing to move on is your inner strengrth. Sending love to all of you, xx Bianca 💘💪
