My Story
My girlfriend took me to Cancun for my 30th birthday, so I took her to Hawaii for her 25th. On our last day in Hawaii, minutes before packing up from the beach I decided to hit a last wave, which resulted in my life changing forever. I was walking in a wave that smashed me down. I broke my C1 and bruised the spinal cord. I died for about 20 minutes before being revived in the ambulance. I'm 6 months post injury now, engaged to my fiancé, and adjusting to my new home life. My "complete fracture" is slowly turning into an "incomplete" and I've gotten little movement back. It's very little but so motivating from going from nothing to something.
