Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)

Tamy Fischer

A moment can change everything...

Hi.  I am Tamy and I am 23 years old.  I have a L1 spinal cord injury. I was injured in July 2011 when I was on my way home from work. Till today I still don’t know what happened. I crashed against a tree and was trapped in my car. From there on I was dependent on a wheelchair. After my accident my family and friends helped me a lot to be able to live an independent life again. In June 2016, I made a big step and moved into my first own apartment. It’s not always easy with the wheelchair and there are often many hurdles to overcome but my boyfriend and family are always by my side and support me.
