Marco Griffioen

From martial arts to para-archery

Hi, let me introduce myself. My name is Marco and I'm living in The Netherlands. I used to do a lot of sports, including Jiu Jitsu, Judo and Hiking. At 35 I had a spontanous stroke. No doctor ever found out why. I lost a part of my cerrebellum. It left me feeling drunk all day and dependant of a wheelchair.

After some years of fysiotheraphy, I felt good enough to try sports again. Archery was a very good sport for me. I have been shooting arrows for 4 years now. At the Dutch National Championship (disabled shooters). I ended number 3 (at 50 meters outdoor), of which I am very proud. Besides being an enthoustic archer, I like to do clinics for local high schools.

Besides archery I like to cook food, made of honest, local products.

I don't like to sit back and relax, but I want to make something out of my situation. That's why I always aim for the future.
