Something About Myself: My journey with Cerebral Palsy

Hi! My name is Bram Graus, and I am an 18 year old man from the Netherlands with Cerebral Palsy. This means that my muscles want to grow faster than my bones which causes tension. I used to walk with crutches, but after some years my hips were almost pulled out of the bowls by this tension so I got it fixed at a hospital in Maastricht.

After this was done all my muscle power was gone and I also got fat from laying down for so long. Because of that, I have lots of problems with my confidence and I didn't want to eat anything. I went from 60kg to 50kg before I got any help. That was all before I went to some sort of a bootcamp in the summer of 2015. When that was finished, I noticed that I like sports a lot. I went to a new gym that was opening across the street from where I live.

Now I am working out 4-5 times a week with the help of trainers who are really nice and advise me on what to eat and which exersise I can do.  I am able to move around in my weelchair properly and without much effort, but I am still working on my legs so I can get them in the best shape. I hope that some day I will be able to stand by myself again! I am putting a lot of the things I do on Instagram and I hope that I can inspire people to do the same because whatever you have, everyone is able to do someting they love you just need to find your passion!
