Disability is not inability

"I don't need easy, I just need possible" - Bethany Hamilton

My name is Candice and I'm 29 years old from Ontario, Canada. I was born with Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus. Ever since I can remember, my parents have always encouraged me to do whatever I wanted to do, regardless of the challenges I may face because of my disability. It took me quite a few years to accept and embrace my differences but when I did.....an entire world opened up to me. I currently play wheelchair tennis, and train on a handcycle. I also enjoy fitness and working out to take care of my body from the inside out. I do my best to keep active and try new things. I also played one season of sledge hockey which was a fun and challenging experience for me! I am definitely living proof that no matter what challenges arise, there is always a way to persevere if you believe in yourself and take chances.
