Phil Keoghan, host of The Amazing Race helps Variety SoCal Present Adaptive Bike to 6-year old Sweetheart
Makaylah is a 6 year old little girl from Long Beach, California with Spinocerebellar Ataxia. Before her diagnosis, Makaylah loved riding her bike, doing puzzles, coloring and spending time with her cousins. Sadly, this neurodegenerative disorder has left Makaylah unable to pedal a typical bike or do many of the activities she loved. Makaylah was referred to Variety the Children’s Charity of Southern California and on April 20, 2017 at the LE RIDE Screening benefiting Variety Socal, Makaylah’s dream of riding a bike again came true. She received a customized, adaptive bike and is once again able to ride with her cousins!
