Motivation and inspire

I wake up everyday thankful.  In 2009 I was hit by an improvised explosive device IED in Afghanistan while on duty that should have killed me. I sustained life changing injuries, my body became fragile and prone to injuries that ended up costing me my leg.

It has been a long road to recovery with so much pain and suffering, I lost so many good friends who were brothers to me but one thing I realised is that I am a father of two beautiful kids and I should never give up in life. Instead I should show my kids that having a disability is not a disease but you can also achieve something in life if you face the challenges with a positive attitude.

I hope my story could inspire and motivate just one person out there.
Being challenged in life is inevitable, being defeated is optional.
