How to live with Cerebral Palsy and Vitiligo

Cerebral Palsy (CP)

Aria's Song

When Aria was born she could not maintain her body temperature on her own. She was in the NICU for 2 weeks as the doctors tried to uncover a cause for her imbalance. No cause was ever determined and Aria was released. Throughout her first year, Aria struggled to meet the developmental milestones. She had various Specialist appointments and examinations. Through it all her spirits were high and the sound of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" always soothed her.

We were told Aria had Cerebral Palsy when she was 13 months. A month later Aria was hospitalized with Meningitis. She underwent various examinations and procedures leaving her with partial hearing. The Doctors advised that Aria may never eat or be able to suck on a bottle as a result of the Meningitis, but Aria beat the odds. She was released from the hospital holding and drinking from a bottle on her own. Shortly after the Meningitis white spots began to appear on her skin. She was later diagnosed with Vitiligo. Today Aria is 4.5 years old and continues to progress.
